From the lecture, I learned about difference of index/symbol/icon. Because my topic is about teenagers' gender hatred words use on online, I tried to find like gender/hatred/anger/swear /negativity.

For the symbol, I started with gender symbols which is the basic things. And then I tried to find some negative signs we know. I also thought social media icons can be the symbol because we just know what this is as we see those icons. I included division mark to show the division between two genders. And the last I used * as the symbol of swear because a lot of portal sites use * to hide that bad words but we all know what is that about.

For the icons, I tried to find something like arguing, swearing, and injuries of someone to show that bad words can hurt somebody. I used direct meaning on icons to show about my topic.

For the index, I tried to show those hatred and conflicts by giving some clues to people. I showed men and women with lipsticks and mustache and showed the connection of social media as people connected with lines. For the hatred words, I used bomb and dynamite to show how dangerous that words can be. On the scars people would get from those hatred expression, I used the bleeding effects, scars, and broken heart.

I showed the hands to tell that people should stop blaming on one another and used fire to show the conflict and heated discussion.

I might use index to visualize my topic. I still need to do more search on how the visual will look like but it gave me some clues on visuals for my infographic.
